A note on extra hotel inventory
At this point, the block of rooms that we have allocated at the conference venue (Holiday Inn, Mart Plaza) is almost fully booked. We strongly advise you to make your reservation at your earliest. In the case that you can no longer book a room at the conference rate, we have managed to reserve a small block of rooms at Best Western Plus River North Hotel, November 1-4. The special rate that we managed to obtain (courtesy of our corporate sponsor NAVTEQ) is $99 plus tax per night -- however, you need to act quickly as this rate is not guaranteed after October 5 and, again, the block of rooms is rather small. The Best Western Plus River North hotel is 0.5 mile away (10-15 minutes walk) from conference venue. Venue (conference hotel and site)A limited number of rooms are available at special rates to conference attendees at the Chicago Mart Plaza - the site and official hotel of the conference. An even greater discount is available to students only. In addition to the low-price of $159.00 for GIS attendees, the few rooms available for students are at a rate of $139.00. A very limited number of rooms are available at the student rate. Please note that this rate is available for booking until October 10 or until the block of rooms reserved at the conference rate has been exhausted. Rooms are still available at both the student and adult rates at a very reasonable price especially if you are willing to share.
